Manny was born in Milan, Italy to parents of Italian and Indian descent and moved to Canada in 1970. He has been working in the airline industry for 33 years.

His interest in the Union movement began early: his mother was a Union Rep at Alitalia. Manny helped organize US Airways to USW in 1999.  He has been the Unit President since 2000 and was given the Chief Steward position in 2005. He also served as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Local until his appointment as President in 2023.

He has assisted in negotiations for US Air, American Airlines, Delta, El Al, Air North and Garda World Security Airport Screeners at Ottawa Airport.
